Scope and Content Isometric view of early steeple roof of New Galloway Town Hall, Dumfries and Galloway New Galloway Town Hall dates to the early 18th century but was almost completely rebuilt in 1875-6. Its bells were donated by two Jacobite supporters, the 6th Viscount Kenmure executed after 1715, and the brother of the Earl of Dundonald. A 1798 engraving shows a much thinner original spire. Parts of this survive inside the current spire. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
