Scope and Content This clock in the courtyard would have been for the benefit of workers arriving in the morning. All employees would have 'clocked in' for the days work and clock out when leaving. This could involve a mechanical card system connected to a clock. Each employee had a unique card with their times worked recorded automatically on it.
