Access Conditions There are no restrictions upon access to material, other than exceptionally, for conservation reasons or confidentiality.
Administrative History Historic Environment Scotland (HES) was established in 2015 as the new lead public body to investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s historic environment. Established in legislation, HES builds on the work of Historic Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) who have been managing and recording the historic environment for over a century.
