Scope and Content Broughdearg, standing stones, Perth and Kinross Located immediately to the south-east of the barn in the steading at Broughdearg are two standing stones. Flat topped, the west stone (left) stands to a height of 1.6m and the east stone (right) to 1.5m. Standing stones are large boulders or stones erected by people in the Neolithic or Bronze Age. Sometimes grouped together to form stone circles, the function of standing stones is unclear. It is likely that they were associated with prehistoric rituals. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
