The stones vary in height from 0.9m to 1.38m and, as can be seen in this photograph, three stones survive upright, while the fourth has fallen. A stone circle with four upright stones is known as a four-poster stone circle. Often located on a mound or terrace, four-poster stone circles vary in size and shape, and can be found in several areas of Scotland. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
