Scope and Content Detail of cast-iron roof-trusses in north range of Houldsworth's Cotton Mill in City of Glasgow Houldsworth's Cotton Mill was built in 1804-5 and is important because it was one of the first mills to built with fire safety in mind. The roof was supported on cast iron trusses made from prefabricated sections bolted together. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
