Scope and Content Mr Bruce Maxwell, Clock Winder at Alyth High Parish Church. Here we are now in the clock tower. The turret clock is behind Mr Maxwell and is in its original wooden cabinet or case. This clock was made by Benjamin Lewis Vulliamy in 1840, serial number 1434. Vulliamy was clock maker to William III and Queen Victoria, producing high quality clocks for royal palaces (Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Westminster etc.), churches and buildings throughout the UK. In 1993, he was asked to could be 'back up' for the Church Officer or beadle. In 1995, Mr Maxwell assumed the responsibility for winding the turret clock.
