Scope and Content Interior. Blacksmith, Inaclete Road, Stornoway, Lewis. Blacksmith, Mr MacLeod, demonstrates the blacker hammer used by the blacksmith for any heavy hammer work. It is electrically driven. Such blacksmiths shops or smithies or smiddys were once commonplace. They made and repaired agricultural tools, did farrier work (shoeing of horses) and repaired lorries.
