Scope and Content Interior. Blacksmith, Inaclete Road, Stornoway, Lewis. Blacksmith, Mr John (Callum) MacLeod exlains about the history of the anvil used in the workshop. Such blacksmiths shops or smithies or smiddys were once commonplace. They made and repaired agricultural tools, did farrier work (shoeing of horses) and repaired lorries.
