Forming of the turf cutter underway. The anvil and tongs are used to shape the white hot metal into shape. When completed this will be attached to a wooden shaft. The oxygen for the forge is provided by an electric motor acting as the bellows. The forge is lit by hand using wood and lit paper. Such blacksmiths shops or smithies or smiddys were once commonplace. They made and repaired agricultural tools, did farrier work (shoeing of horses) and repaired lorries.
