Scope and Content Process: Casting Iron, manually removing slag from the furnace. The furnace is at 1503 degrees centigrade. Once ready, this iron will be poured into the moulds for the Ross Fountain replacement pieces. The crane is attached to move the crucible to the moulds. Ross Fountain underwent restoration and conservation at Lost Art, Wigan on behalf of the Ross Trust. Replacement castings were required where damage too great to save the original. The castings were undertaken at JT and E Castings, Haigh Foundry, Wigan, Lancashire (founded 1950). Sound: sound Colour: colour Running Time:
