Scope and Content Process: Casting Iron, preparing the mould box for part of a bowl casting to be replaced on Ross Fountain, Waverley Gardens, Edinburgh. The mould box is now in one piece. Risers are glued onto the top of the mould box on top of the sand packing. The moulten iron is poured into the one on the right (which has been placed above the gates). The one on the left allowes the gas to escape and shows when the mould is full. The part being recast is one of the basins from the Ross Fountain. JT and E Castings of Wigan carried out the foundry work. Sound: sound Colour: colour Running Time: 0.22 mins
