Scope and Content Interior. Turning Mill. Mr Duncan explains the making of broom heads on the wood lathe. The bristles were applied by another company. Turned with sap in the wood. If turned on the round it would have cracked. The tree was sawn through the centre at the mill. This eliminated most of the splitting during drying in the kiln on site. Mr David Duncan, owner. Born 1928. All working life spent at the Turning Mill (apart from a spell in the army). Sound: sound Colour: colour Running Time: 0.52 mins
