Scope and Content Howietoun Fishery. Mr Ian Semple, brown trout manager, expels milt from a male brown trout. This is then manually mixed in by hand with the previously stripped fish eggs from the female brown trout. This process has to be done quickly as only 30 seconds are available to make sure all the eggs ar fertilised. The eggs become fertilised and are then taken to Milnholm Hatchery nearby for growing on.
