Administrative History Craig Phadrig, an Iron Age vitrified timber-laced fort overlooking Inverness, is one of the iconic sites of Scottish prehistory, with a long record of investigation stretching back into the 18th century. The Commission’s survey of the site, undertaken in partnership with Forestry Commission Scotland in September 2013, revealed the extent of disturbance: this project sought to reconcile this information with the available archive material. The work was carried out by an Institute for Archaeologists (IfA) bursary placement with RCAHMS, between 3 February and 28 March 2014. The research was summarised in a short academic paper submitted to the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
