Scope and Content Invereddrie, fermtoun, Perth and Kinross The well-preserved remains of this fermtoun, an agricultural community, lie to the north and south-west of Invereddrie farmsteading. At least 64 buildings, their enclosures, yards and pens, have been identified during the course of field-survey. Some of the buildings of the fermtoun can be seen in this aerial photograph. Often long and rectilinear, internal room divisions can sometimes be seen in the building remains. Some of the buildings were houses, others were byres and barns. Invereddrie is also known from historical sources dating from the 17th century. On record in 1629, the map of General William Roy (1747-55) depicts a cluster of buildings, as does the map of Stobie in 1783. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
