Scope and Content Henge monument at Belhie, Perth and Kinross The ditch of this small henge was discovered as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs. The ditch is broad and is broken by an entrance causeway on the SE. This aerial photograph was taken in 1976 and looks towards the north-west. The ditch of the henge is visible as a dark penannular ring near the centre. To the south-west, the cropmark of a segmented ring-ditch can be seen. Both were excavated in 1988. This small henge was situated in a cultivated field to the W of the Ruthven Water. It was excavated in 1988 prior to pan-busting. During the excavation, a pit was discovered outside the henge. This pit contained Beaker sherds. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
