Scope and Content Temporary camp at Kinnell, Angus This Roman temporary camp is at Kinnell. It is built on sloping ground on the N side of the Lunan Water. Part of the defensive ditch can still be seen on the ground. This is an aerial view of the site. The camp itself can be seen as a series of cropmarks in the middle of the image, with one rounded corner very clear. Entrances have identified in the centre of the NE and SW sides, with two more in the SE side. The site was first identified in 1968 through aerial photography. some excavation work has been done on the site, confirming the V-shape of the defensive ditch. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
