Scope and Content Pencil drawing of catapult/balista stone, 1/3 real size,side view. Annotaed in ink. "Catapult or Balista stone from Burghead. A pile of 8 or 9 of these stones was found in 1862. 4 are in existence (one was drawn), two in Keith Museum and one at Burghead. They are all, I am told, the same shape with flat bottoms. They were piled like Cannon balls ready for use. Weight of stone 7 lbs exactly." Signed: 'H W Young'
