Scope and Content Interior. Blacksmith, Inaclete Road, Stornoway, Lewis. Blacksmith, Mr MacLeod explains about the blacker hammer with its anvil. Various tools can be attached to it to give the blacksmith the ability to make a wider range of objects. Any heavy hammer work would be done on this hammer. It is electrically driven. Such blacksmiths shops or smithies or smiddys were once commonplace. They made and repaired agricultural tools, did farrier work (shoeing of horses) and repaired lorries.
