Scope and Content Undated fine pen and wash measured drawings on page 1 in sketchbook by George Petrie: Plan of short cist containing urn annotated: 'Kistraen and Urn found in Barrow called Black Knowe in Rendall' II Section through barrow in St Andrews parish (Inv no 659) showing urn in short cist and locaction of broken stone ard share found outside west end of cist. Annotation: 'Section of Barrow near Little in Parish of St Andrews showing position of Kistraen A, Urn B & Stone implement or weapon c. Opened by G Petrie. The Barrow was about 15 feet in diameter and 4 1/2 feet high. The Urn was about three fourths filled with burnt bones and ashes, and stood in a quantitiy of fine dry clay heaped about halfway up on the side of the Urn. On the outside of N W end of the Kist lay the Stone C crudely dressed'.
