Scope and Content From Christiania, Norway. In reply to Petrie's letter of 12 December, with accounts of antiquarian researches. Hopes to return to Orkney soon and to visit Shetland. Discusses the barrows of Norwegian type that Petrie has been excavating and confirms that stone implements are found in Norwegian graves as amulets. Discusses Picts Houses [much missing] and the Picts themselves, refers to subterranean houses about which he will also write to Thomas. Mentions loss of Thomas child. Postscript requests a sketch plan of Kirkwall. Folded, taped, damaged.
