Scope and Content Apologises for taking Professor Munch's letter south with him and returns it. Looks forward to seeing the catalogue of Orkney words. Asks what was found in the tumulus at Stennis and what became of the standing stone with a hole [Odin's Stone]. Is there a similar stone at North Maven in Shetland? 2. 13 December 1859, on black-edged paper. Reminds Petrie about the promised list of Orkney words. Oxford has been very gay on account of the residence of the Prince of Wales at Christchurch. 3. 4 December 1862, from 22 Beaumont St, Oxford. Requests help in getting a copy of the Orkneyinga Saga. Mentions Munch in Christiania. 'I had the dreadful misfortne to lose my young wife in her 2nd confinement....& I am left with 2 little girls.'
