Scope and Content Edinbrgh. Petrie had notified Stuart of the discovery of the Skaill silver hoard. He and Cosmo Innes spoke to Henderson at the Exchequer to stress how important it is that fair reward should be given to the finders. ' Mr Henderson was highly pleased with the discretion and management shown by you in the matter - and said that all expenses incurred by you would be repaid.' Expresses disappointment that Farrer sent his paper to the London Antiquaries rather than the Scottish.
