Scope and Content 'Sketches in the Orkney and Shetland Islands W. St. G. Burke', title of red and black leather-covered folio. Folio of drawings of sites in Orkney and Shetland copied from originals drawn in June and July 1875 by Captain W St G. Burke of the Royal Engineers while he was engaged on Ordnance Survey fieldwork. There is descriptive text, a list of contents and a letter presenting the folio to the Society, dated 16 March 1886. 57 pages. Handwritten text. 17 drawings and a map.
