Scope and Content This is the report of an archaeological survey of Glencat, in the parish of Birse, Aberdeenshire, commissioned by the Birse Community Trust and carried out by Headland Archaeology in 2004. It builds on the earlier archaeological survey of the Forest of Birse, also commissioned by the Trust.. It covered the present-day enclosed land of Glencat and the adjacent hillsides up to an altitude of about 1000 ft. 25 features of archaeological interest were identified, mostly remains of rectangular rubble buildings, but also a track, stock enclosures,a dam, a lade, and two lime kilns.
