Scope and Content Rotary querns discovered at Dunadd, Argyll and Bute The fort at Dunadd occupies a rocky crag rising steeply from the surrounding valley floor, once protected on nearly all sides by marshland. Dunadd was an important centre of power in Dalriada, the Kingdom of the Scots. These rotary querns were found during the excavations in 1904. Finds from the excavations indicate that high quality metal working was being carried out at Dunadd. Fragments of several hundred crucible moulds to cast bronze jewellery have been recovered.
