Scope and Content Fragment of a medieval grave-slab, Corrie Old Parish Church, Dumfries and Galloway The site of Corrie medieval parish church lies due east of Corriehills steading. Although the church building no longer exists, the burial-ground contains a number of medieval and post-medieval gravestones. Lying amongst rubble near the entrance to the burial-ground, this broken grave-slab has the outline of a sword incised upon its face, and is thought to date to the late 13th or early 14th century. The medieval parish of Corrie was amalgamated with Hutton in 1609 and the parish church abandoned. A fine collection of 18th- and 19th-century headstones indicates that the burial-ground remained in use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
