Notes, Towie-Barclay Castle, Aberdeenshire.

AL 29/12V

Description Notes, Towie-Barclay Castle, Aberdeenshire.

Date 1948

Collection General Collection

Catalogue Number AL 29/12V

Category Print Room

Scope and Content Notes: 'Like Delgaty Castle this one is L-shaped in plan as is also Gighi Castle (not very far away). They were in all probability built about the same period. This similarity is further empahasised by the small vaulted entrance hall which appears in all three. Delgaty alone remains intact, only part of Towie Barclay while Gighi is in ruins.'
