Scope and Content Fort at Fallburn, South Lanarkshire The well-preserved circular fort at Fallburn is built on a low knoll with little in the way of natural defences. There were probably two periods of occupation. There is no evidence of hut circles inside the defences, but there is a possible quarry. This is an aerial view of the fort. It consists of a pair of ramparts and ditches with a slight bank outside the outer ditch. The inner rampart with the remains of a wall on top may represent a later phase of occupation. The fort had two entrances. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
